Jonathan Painter
Graduated with a 2:1 in Electronics, Control and Systems Engineering from Sheffield University. Throughout university had a strong interest in the stock market and using computers / computer models to analyse and trade market movements, put several paper theories together and saw them through using paper trading. During his first job with GPT (Marconi Communciations) he continued developement and maturation of his market models until the point where they were ready to be traded. At this point, Jon opened his first trading accounts and began trading around his job with varying success, tweaking his models and trading techniques to gain long term consistency. Jon is no stranger to the "school of hard knocks" and has had many setbacks in the ensuing years as he learned the realities of systematic trading until, in 2003, finally bring able to give up his (then 2nd job) to trade full time for himself from home.
